Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll creates exclusive group with MLB legend

In leading the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday and keeping their postseason hopes alive for one more day, Corbin Carroll did what he does best.

Carroll drove in two of the Diamondbacks' five runs in the game thanks to a triple.

The two-run triple was his 17th of the season, matching his exact career-high total from 2025. But he also made MLB history and placed his name next to an icon.

Carroll's latest three-base hit gives him 60 for his career. And with 60 triples and 104 home runs, Carroll joined the legendary Lou Gehrig as the only players to ever record 60 triples and hit at least 100 home runs within their first 640 career games, according to MLB.com's Sarah Langs.

The 26-year-old now has 606 hits, 323 RBI, 447 runs scored, 277 walks, 125 doubles and even 143 stolen bases through those 640 games and 2,389 at-bats.

In 2026, Carroll also has 22 home runs, 75 RBI, 90 runs, 32 doubles, 72 walks, 21 steals and a slash line of .240/.330/473 in 152 games and 567 at-bats so far.

Carroll now adds an historic accomplishment to his impressive resume

A three-time All-Star, Carroll, who made his MLB debut in late August of 2022, can now add this piece of history to an early-career resume that already includes a National League Rookie of the Year Award (2023) and a Silver Slugger honor (2025).

Carroll has four more games to add to his historic statistics while his team tries to keep fighting for the final wild-card spot with the regular-season finale series on deck against the San Diego Padres.
