Eli Manning shares advice for Arch Manning after Holly Rowe-AI controversy

"He'll have to figure out that media stuff on his own, and a lot of it is just kind of growing pains," he said. "You feel like they're your pal, you relax with them a little bit, you try to be funny, and they can take it and run. So you just gotta be careful; you gotta find moments where you can be funny, you can be relaxed, but there's certain things that you know you just gotta learn and deal with. And I think he has learned, and he apologized and did the right steps in handling that."

Arch Manning is heeding his uncle's advice. The 22-year-old QB was much more guarded during his Monday news conference ahead of the No. 1-ranked Longhorns (3-0) road game against the No. 14-ranked Tennessee Volunteers (3-0) on Saturday (ABC, noon ET). He answered 19 questions in a 2:47 session.

Now, the issue isn't that Arch Manning joked in front of the media. The issue is that he joked about something that offends many in front of the media. 

Players can still show their humor around reporters without joking about subjects that aren't a laughing matter. That said, it appears Arch Manning won't do that during his news conferences for the foreseeable future, creating a frigid relationship with outlets in Austin and elsewhere.
