Pete Golding, Ole Miss have massive recruiting momentum after win over LSU

The Ole Miss Rebels are rolling right now, and head coach Pete Golding and his staff are taking advantage of every bit of momentum to roll on the recruiting trail as well.

The Rebels are 3-0 and ranked No. 4 in the country after beating the LSU Tigers in Week 3. They vanquished former head coach Lane Kiffin in front of one of the rowdiest home crowds we've seen in recent college football history.

Ole Miss fans were out for blood, and quarterback Trinidad Chambliss and the Rebels delivered with a 32-24 prime-time win. Not only was basically the entirety of the college football world watching that massive win for Ole Miss, but several big-time recruits were in attendance to take in the atmosphere in Oxford as well.

That win led to more wins for Ole Miss, but specifically on the recruiting trail.

On Sunday, after watching the Ole Miss win over LSU, four-star safety Braylen Bedford from Brentwood, Tennessee, committed to the Rebels. 

He represents a big get for Golding and the Ole Miss staff, and he's ranked as the No. 6 safety in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. 

Another 2028 safety, four-star Giovanni Tuggle from Winder, Georgia, followed up Bedford's commitment with one of his own. Tuggle is ranked as the No. 5 safety in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. 

Ole Miss Rebels are hot on the recruiting trail

All of this stemmed from the win over LSU, but these are relationships that have been built over time by Golding and the Rebels.

“Really, coach Pete Golding, coach (Wes) Neighbors and they’ve been recruiting me since the eighth grade,” Bedford told Rivals. "It's great. Coach (Donte) Moncrief has been recruiting me hard too.”

It's early, but Ole Miss now has the No. 3-ranked 2028 class in the nation. That's not to mention Golding's 14th-ranked 2027 class.

When you're hot, you're hot, and the Rebels are riding that wave right now.

“Few programs had more recruiting momentum coming out of Saturday than Ole Miss," wrote Rivals Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons. "Pete Golding and the Rebels knocked off LSU in front of a loaded visitor list, and the impact started showing almost immediately."
