The Dallas Cowboys are nicknamed "America's Team." Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson questions whether their fame extends worldwide.
The Ravens (1-1) face the Cowboys (1-1) in Week 3 at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro (CBS, 4:25 p.m. ET) in the second international game of the 2026 NFL season. Melbourne hosted the San Francisco 49ers in their 27-7 Week 1 rout of the Los Angeles Rams. Jackson indicated Wednesday he doesn't expect many Dallas supporters to make the international trip.
"This is America, that's Brazil, so we'll see," Jackson said when asked whether the Cowboys will have a large contingent of their fans in Brazil.
Dallas owner Jerry Jones, meanwhile, insists the Cowboys are a global brand thanks to his international connections. After the league announced the teams would play in the South American country at the NFL Honors in February, Jones said he has had business in Brazil for 35 years, including an automobile dealership he owns with a partner. He didn't name either.

"I look to where our fans are," Jones said (h/t Grant Afseth of Dallas Sports Journal). "I'm excited about the Cowboys fans that we have in Brazil. I'm excited about the country of Brazil. I have a lot of business in Brazil. I have a lot of respect [for Brazil], and to be able to take our team, take the Cowboys down there and be a part of their sports is a big deal."
The NFL is also jazzed about Brazil. The league believes the country represents an excellent chance to grow the game's popularity. In 2025, it told former CBS Sports reporter Jonathan Jones (now with The Athletic) that it has 36 million fans in Brazil, the second-largest international market behind Mexico (40 million).
With that in mind, the league will keep promoting itself in the country that houses most of the Amazon River to gain more fans. See if they develop a love or hatred of the Cowboys, like many Americans already have.
