Manchester United are preparing for the summer transfer window where it is likely that the club will target players that can improve the squad ahead of the new season later this year.
United are likely to have large amounts of competition in their pursuit of players this summer, however, as other clubs also look towards improvement.
Nottingham Forest are also monitoring the situation and could get involved if Elliot Anderson leaves the club this summer, which is looking more likely as the window approaches.
Michael Carrickās side are also currently facing competition for Atalanta midfielder Ederson with other clubs trying to hijack a transfer that would see the midfielder move to Old Trafford.
The Atalanta player is refusing these calls, however, as club-to-club negotiations continue between Manchester United and the Italian outfit.
Now, Italian outlet Gazzetta are reporting that Fenerbahce are interested in Rafael Leao for a potential move this summer with presidential candidate Hakan Safi asking for information about the attacker.
The Turkish outfit, who finished second in the Super Lig with 74 points, have already been linked with Mason Greenwood with Hakan Safi preparing to announce the signing.
Leao attracted attention from Manchester United in the early stages of 2024 with Arsenal also keen at the time.
Since then, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Manchester City have all joined the race for the attacker with the possibility now emerging that five clubs will be fighting to sign the Portuguese international this summer.
Rafael Leao has scored nine goals and provided three assists in Serie A this season for AC Milan helping to convey his clear talent.
It remains to be seen who the 26-year-old will choose this summer although Manchester United will hope it is them.
