Manchester United’s financial standing continues to emphasise just how powerful the club remains off the pitch, even during a period where results on it have been inconsistent.

The Old Trafford side still operates as one of the most recognisable global sporting brands, built on decades of success, a vast international fanbase, and a commercial reach few clubs can match.

Old Trafford has remained a key part of that identity for over a century.

Despite recent sporting turbulence, the club’s commercial pull has shown little sign of fading.

That strength has once again been reflected in the latest Forbes rankings, where Manchester United have climbed to third place on the 2026 list of the world’s most valuable football clubs, as announced on the Forbes website.

The Red Devils are now valued at around $7.2 billion, marking a significant jump from previous years when they were placed outside the top tier of elite valuations.

In 2024, United were ranked 14th, and last year they sat 24th at approximately £4.9 billion ($6.6 billion), making this latest rise a notable rebound in global standing.

United’s valuation continues to be driven by a balanced revenue model, with commercial income playing the largest role.

Broadcasting and matchday revenue also remain significant contributors, but it is the club’s global commercial partnerships that continue to set them apart from most rivals.

That blend of income streams has helped maintain their position among football’s financial heavyweights, even as the competitive landscape at the top continues to evolve rapidly.

At the very top of the global list, Real Madrid remain ahead with a valuation of $9.5 billion, followed closely by Barcelona at $7.5 billion. Manchester United sit just behind them in third, ahead of Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham, completing the top ten.

For United, the figures reinforce a familiar theme: even in transition on the pitch, their status as one of football’s most commercially dominant clubs remains firmly intact.
