Tottenham Hotspur expected to be active on summer deadline day with potentially two deals in the pipeline

Tottenham Hotspur have had quite a busy 2025 summer transfer window, having landed important players like Joao Palhinha, Mohammed Kudus, and Xavi Simons. Meanwhile, they also oversaw the exits of other players like Son Heung-Min and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

With all these moves, Spurs have assembled quite a competitive squad for Thomas Frank for the 2025-26 season, with talented and competent players available for all the areas of the team.

However, the Lilywhites will be competing for several trophies this season, mainly the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League, and the season ahead is going to be quite hectic for them.

Keeping in view these high demands of this season, one can still argue that the North London side can still do with some more signings. This was particularly the opinion of the former financial advisor of Manchester City, Stefan Borson, as he talked exclusively to FootballInsider247.

Former Manchester City official predicts two more signings for Spurs

Talking on this subject, Borson believed Tottenham might make up to two new signings on the deadline day, even though they might be more opportunistic than strategic:

“Well, when we spoke about Spurs a couple of weeks ago, I thought they were going to do more business for sure. I suspect he’ll try and find at least one more player, just because he’s got so many games.

“I haven’t counted them, but between now and 31 December, they’re going to have maybe 25 games let’s say. So, I think they are short. I think they’ll look to try and spend at least another £50million.

“It would not surprise me if they found two, but I just don’t know who those players are. They don’t seem very strategic in terms of how they’ve gone about their business.

“It’s been much more opportunistic rather than strategic, which is inevitable when you get to this stage of the window, which is why I think it’s so strange when teams do that.”

Although not very flattering for Tottenham, Borson’s comments make some sense, especially if Spurs have left it this late to fill up the ranks for Thomas Frank. For now, they are being linked with several players, including forwards, midfielders, and defenders.

The Aston Villa starlet Morgan Rogers has been linked with the North London side for quite some time, and if the Lilywhites can land him on the last day of the transfer window, he would be quite a good addition to the team. They were also interested in the West Ham United midfielder Lucas Paqueta, but the Brazilian seems to be set to remain with the Hammers for now.

Similarly, Tottenham will also be looking to land one of Manuel Akanji or Nathan Ake, or the RB Leipzip forward Antonio Nusa and it remains to be seen if they will be able to land anyone of them on the deadline day.
