Inter Milan directors have not lost faith in new manager Cristian Chivu despite Sunday’s shock home loss to Udinese.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInter1908, the parties remain on the same page, unfazed by the weekend collapse.

With the clock running against them heading into the FIFA Club World Cup, Inter chose Chivu to replace Simone Inzaghi.

Indeed, time was against the Nerazzurri after Inzaghi announced he would take charge of Al-Hilal.

Therefore, they had to act quickly to fill the managerial vacancy.

Inter Milan Leadership & Cristian Chivu Pulling in Same Direction

Cristian Chivu wasn’t Inter’s first choice.

However, after Cesc Fabregas turned them down, they turned to the 44-year-old to take Inzaghi’s place.

Little did anyone know that Chivu would mastermind a 5-0 demolition of Torino on his Serie A debut.

Yet, Udinese gave the Nerazzurri a harsh reality check in round two, beating them 2-1 at San Siro.

That result exposed Inter’s vulnerabilities in defense and a lack of ideas in the final third.

Nonetheless, the club will stick with Chivu as they continue to believe in their choice.
