Manchester United travel to West Ham for an interesting mid-week clash on Tuesday night. We provide you with the latest Manchester United team news and the predicted lineup based on availability and any comments made by manager, Michael Carrick. We also provide you with the West Ham team news.
Manchester United are the most in-form team in the Premier League at the moment. After four straight wins against Arsenal, Manchester City, Fulham and last time out against Spurs, Carrick’s men are a force to be reckoned with.
The Red Devils will make the trip to the London Stadium to take on West Ham. The hammers have had a strong start to 2026, winning three of their last four, including a 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday.
The Manchester United team has remained largely unchanged since Carrick took the reins. Goalkeeper Senne Lammens has been supported by Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw in defence.
The midfield two consists of the in-form Casemiro, joined by Kobbie Mainoo, who has enjoyed a run in the team under Carrick. Amad Diallo, Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbuemo are starting every game in the attack under the interim boss.
The only change that the manager has made is that the injured Patrick Dorgu has been replaced by Matheus Cunha, who has played well since returning to the starting 11. With just two full days between fixtures, there’s a chance that we could see him make changes to keep his team fresh. With that being said, Manchester United don’t play again until February 23, meaning he could remain with the same team that beat Spurs.
The manager spoke to the media on Monday afternoon ahead of Tuesday’s clash. He gave injury updates on both Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt, who remain out for the game against West Ham.
Carrick said, “Mason [Mount] will be probably not for Tuesday, probably after, but definitely going into the Everton game he’ll be back”.
On de Ligt, the manager updated us, stating, “Matthijs, we’ll see how he develops, the Everton game feels like a long time away at the moment, so we’ll see how he develops, but he’s positive, he’s moving in the right direction, but Mason’s a little bit closer than him.”
Aside from those two injuries, Manchester United have no new injury concerns heading into the West Ham clash.
Veteran goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski hasn’t played in the league this season and remains out with a back injury. Frenchman, Jean-Clair Todibo, remains unavailable after his red card against Chelsea.
During his press conference, West Ham boss, Nuno Espírito Santo said that they will have some players out of Tuesday’s fixture; however, he wasn’t willing to divulge who those players were.
