Tottenham Hotspur have made the end of the 2025 summer transfer window quite sweet for their fans as they were finally able to land a much-needed playmaker by signing the RB Leipzig forward Xavi Simons.
With the Dutchman’s arrival, Spurs have a very balanced team that has the potential to compete for the biggest titles, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
However, with only one day left in this summer transfer window, the North London side is still looking to make some more acquisitions, particularly that of a winger to replace Son Heung-Min, and to compete with Brennan Johnson, who has been getting the goals since the start of the season but whose overall game still remains quite underwhelming.
For this purpose, the Lilywhites have been linked with another RB Leipzig forward, Antonio Nusa, while they are also reported to be looking to continue trying to sign Savinho from Manchester City.
Meanwhile, as per a report from GiveMeSport, the AC Milan star Rafael Leao has also emerged as a target for Tottenham, and the Premier League side will look to land the Portuguese forward on the transfer market deadline day.
With only a very short time left in the market, it would be extremely difficult for Spurs to successfully complete this operation. However, after the stale loss to Bournemouth in their last league game, there may be a feeling at the North London club that even more firepower is needed in the team, despite the additions of players like Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons.
With his brute power, physical prowess, explosiveness, dribbling, and speed, there is no doubt that the Portuguese forward could be a good addition to Thomas Frank’s attack, and he will especially complement the attack with Kudus playing on the opposite wing.
However, Leao has shown visible signs of struggles with consistency, and this would be a problem that Tottenham will have to keep in mind while making a move for him. For now, it remains to be seen whether this operation could be completed in time before the market closes.
