Javier Hernandez has endured a difficult summer plagued with injuries after being forced out of action since late June.

The former Manchester United striker started his MLS season in great form, managing 10 goals in as many games, but he sustained a hamstring injury while warming up before facing Sporting Kansas City on June 23 and has not played since.

Clearly struggling with everything and being away from his team-mates, Hernandez took to social media to update LA Galaxy fans with a video of himself trying to get back to fitness.

During his time at United, ‘Chicharito’ became renowned for scoring goals with several parts of his body – including the back of his head and backside.

The clip ends with the Mexican forward trying to hold back tears.

Hernandez’s video was accompanied by the caption: “We always go through difficult moments, through difficult situations and it is up to us to take it as something negative or take advantage of the situation and see it as a great motivation to give 100%. The decision to continue and continue is in you.”
