Carlos Alcaraz’s bold new haircut has been the talk of the US Open 2025, with fans and players alike sharing their opinions across social media. While the Spaniard’s look has drawn mixed reactions, Emma Raducanu became the latest star to weigh in after her dominant second-round victory in New York.
Asked about Alcaraz’s hairstyle in her post-match press conference, Raducanu responded with a smile, showing her support for his confidence in pulling it off.
“I think he owns it. I think he pulls it off,” Raducanu said. “If you own a haircut like that, then it can work. Mixed views, sure, but whatever he does, it’s not going to affect what he does on the court. I’m just happy to see him having fun with whatever.”
Her comments came shortly after Frances Tiafoe offered a far harsher assessment, calling Alcaraz’s haircut “terrible.” Raducanu admitted she felt Tiafoe’s remarks went a little too far.
“No, I think Francis was harsh on him,” she said laughing. “I think you know the fact that he doesn't get confident that he knows it. I think he pulled it off. So, yeah, say what you want. Yeah, I'd say I'm supportive. I'd say supportive,” she added with a smile.

Raducanu’s balanced take contrasted with Tiafoe’s blunt criticism and highlighted the playful side of tour life, where off-court style choices often spark as much chatter as on-court results.
While Alcaraz’s haircut continues to dominate headlines, Raducanu gears up for a third-round showdown where she could face Elena Rybakina in a blockbuster clash
