I think it’s one of those matches where you know it’s gonna be a physical war. You know how physical he is, the way he plays.. How aggressive he is. It’s just one of those matches that you know you’re gonna have to play aggressive, take your chances, & be confident out on the court. Ben Shelton said about his next match against Jannik Sinner.

Shelton also said that he lives for these types of matches.

I have 2 matches under my belt against him. Both on hard courts last year. I’m really looking forward to it. The way he’s been playing lately.. I’m sure it’s gonna be an amazing crowd out here. Those are the type of matches I live for. The American star added.

Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner will be up for the battle

Ben Shelton and Jannik Sinner going up against each other will be a treat for tennis fans considering how they have fared against each other in their last meetings. The two young stars have won a match each in two meetings.

In their first-ever meetup, Shelton shocked the Italian as he beat Sinner in three sets at the 2023 Shanghai Masters. Despite conceding the first set 2-6, Shelton won the match. The American outclassed Sinner in the second set as he claimed it 6-3.

In the decider, the two players came all guns blazing and the match had to be decided in the tiebreaker which was won by Shelton. However, Sinner did not let Shelton enjoy this lead in the head-to-head record as he defeated the American at the 2023 Vienna Open.

The 22-year-old Italian stamped his authority as Sinner claimed the match in straight sets. Although Shelton tried hard as they played a tiebreaker in the first set, Sinner was in no mood to let the match slip from his grasp. He eventually won it 7-6 (5), 7-5.

Now, in their third meeting on the hard court, it will be interesting to see who reigns supreme. Both players have been in good form so far, winning their two matches comprehensively.
