Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky suffered a loss in the hands of the Minnesota Lynx, with a game that ended with a final score of 91-78. To add to their loss, two Sky team members also fell to injury during the game, guard Ariel Atkins and forward Michaela Onyenwere.

Atkins exited just before halftime with an injury on her leg, but it was clear she was feeling pain and concern after she fell following a drive to the hoop. It was not long before it was confirmed she would not be returning and her status is undetermined. Atkins played only 15 minutes and had just two points. She was the first among Angel Reese’s teammates to fall to an injury.

Onyenwere then got injured later in the game as she collided with teammate Kamilla Cardoso while setting a screen. Onyenwere was pushed to the ground and was obviously distraught and had some pain. Medical staff came to see Onyenwere and helped her off the ground. Prior to the hit, Onyenwere had contributed to the game eight points, five rebounds, and two assists in 21 minutes.

Sky head coach Tyler Marsh confirmed afterwards that Onyenwere did not have a serious concussion and that she will be able to come back to recover without any other impact.
