It's official: Diana Taurasi is no longer the WNBA's leader in field goals made.
Connecticut Sun forward Tina Charles — who ranks second in all-time scoring behind Taurasi — claimed the No. 1 spot on the field goals made list against the Chicago Sky on Wednesday.
Charles entered the game needing just three field goals to surpass Taurasi's tally of 3,341. She finished the contest with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, improving her numbers to 3,347 field goals made.
After Charles made her third field goal of the game — which came midway through the first quarter on a layup — the WNBA was quick to celebrate and share its reaction to the milestone.
"NO ONE ABOVE HER," the WNBA said about Charles, along with a graphic showing her achievement, as well as the current top 10 players on the list.
"With her third field goal of the game, Tina Charles officially passes Diana Taurasi for the most field goals in WNBA history (3,342)!"
Unfortunately for Tina Charles, the Sky ruined her historic night. Chicago blew out Connecticut 88-64, with All-Star forward Angel Reese leading the way with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Four other players scored in double figures for the Sky, with Kamilla Cardoso chipping in 16 points, along with five rebounds and three blocks.
Charles, for her part, didn't get much help. She and Saniya Rivers (16 points) were the only Sun players to score in double figures.
Connecticut returns to action against the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday.
