The New York Liberty continued their championship ways on Thursday night as they beat Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky by a commanding score of 99-74.
The Liberty's incredible win moved coach Sandy Brondello's team to 2-0 on the season while the Sky continued their disappointing start; now holding an 0-2 record.
On Friday, reporter Andraya Carter joined ESPN's Sportscenter to share the latest news that Liberty guard Natasha Cloud set a team record in her opening two games of the season.
Carter praised the Liberty for their strong play so far this season including the team's myriad shooters, which knocked a WNBA season record setting 19 three-pointers during Thursday night's game in the Windy City.
"This New York Liberty team, I can't stop talking about them, they are coming in hot and on fire," Carter said Friday.
"The way this this New York Liberty team, they have so many weapons, six different players made multiple three-point shots," she continued.
Carter said that Cloud set a new team record during her Thursday performance.
"She is the first Liberty player with 15 points and five assists in her first two games ever," Carter said.
"They have a ton of weapons, I like what I'm seeing, it's still really early but this New York Liberty team is on fire," the ESPN reporter added.
Cloud had 18 points eight assists and four rebounds on the night to lead a star-studded Liberty lineup.
Kennedy Burke added 17 points and Sabrina Ionescu had 16 for New York in their second game of the season.
