Indiana Fever shooting guard Sophie Cunningham was recently inducted into the Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame, and she and her sister had a heartfelt way of touching back on their memories in celebration of the achievement and recognition from her college team.
Sophie Cunningham reached her first year of eligibility to be inducted into the Mizzou Athletics Hall of Fame this year, and her former college did not waste time and gave her the recognition. Over at Instagram, Cunningham shared the video of her receiving the news, and added her caption to it.
“Speechless for once
brought me tears of gratitude and nothing but love for everyone who’s been a part of this wild ride with me. God has been faithful through it all!” Sophie wrote.
“I think I cried a little
truly honored and full of gratitude and love for Mizzou!” Cunningham said in her post on X. “ We had a hell of a team and A TIME WAS HAD during those years but nothing beats the memories and relationships those four years gave. We had COMO poppin and all I can do now is smile!”

Her sister, Lindsey Cunningham, also took the opportunity to recall their time together in the team.

Sophie Cunningham had an outstanding college basketball career with the Missouri Tigers, where she became one of the most decorated players in program history. She played for four seasons from 2015 to 2019, earning multiple accolades, including SEC Freshman of the Year and three-time First-Team All-SEC honors.
Cunningham was known for her leadership, toughness, and scoring ability, finishing as Missouri’s all-time leading scorer with 2,187 points. She also set records for free throws made (537) and ranked among the top players in three-pointers made, assists, and field goal percentage.
During her time at Missouri, Cunningham helped lead the Tigers to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, marking one of the most successful eras in the program’s history. She played a crucial role in Missouri’s resurgence, making the team a consistent contender in the SEC.
In her senior season, Sophie Cunningham averaged 17.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game, further cementing her legacy as one of Missouri’s greatest players.
