WWE superstar Logan Paul has broken from his heel persona to offer rare praise for 17-time champion and personal foe John Cena following their match at Clash in Paris.

The two wrestlers squared off on Sunday, with Cena delivering one of his best matches of late in a win over Paul. With that Premium Live Event (PLE) in the books, it's down to the final eight matches for Cena before he calls it a career on Dec. 13.

On Sunday, Cena leaned on a mixture of his classic moves while also mimicking signature finishes from past rivals, including AJ Styles’ Styles Clash and Baron Corbin’s End of Days, before securing the win with his iconic Attitude Adjustment.

The victory marked the 99th premium live event win of Cena’s career, according to Wrestling Data, and after the match, Paul took to X to praise Cena and acknowledge what clashing with the veteran meant to him.

"When an unstoppable force meets an immovable object," Paul wrote. "I wanted a match with John Cena to prove that I not only belong in the business but can bring the best out of the business. Mission accomplished. For me, last night was peak professional wrestling.

"Fair play to John, an absolute mastermind of the craft. He wrestles better than Pablo Picasso paints… idk if it’ll ever be understood how good he is.

"Although my hand wasn’t raised, I came away with more victories than I can count. Grateful. Go toe to toe with another GOAT, check."

The match itself came after weeks of escalating tension. Cena had challenged Paul following SummerSlam, where Cena lost the WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes and was attacked by Brock Lesnar.

Paul accepted, setting up their singles bout in Paris, and it's fair to say the event gave him a boost among fans while validating his skills despite ending in defeat.

For Cena, the victory builds momentum heading into his reported showdown with Lesnar at WWE's Wrestlepalooza, scheduled for Sept. 20 at Gainbridge FieldHouse in Indianapolis.
