Since their return to WWE in late May, the Wyatt Sicks have dominated the SmackDown tag team division. They defeated every tag team in brutal fashion, eventually capturing the WWE Tag Team Championships. Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy have retained the titles at SummerSlam and on Sunday at Clash in Paris. They’ve been successful, but adopting a new strategy could be the key to unlocking their full potential.
On August 29, 2025, in the episode of Friday Night SmackDown, we got a rare look at Uncle Howdy out of character as Bo Dallas. Before their number one contender’s match, he warned Melo Don’t Miz and The Street Profits that things might not be as tight as they seem between them. Weeks prior, the other members had been seen lurking in the background of prominent teams. Permanently integrating those behaviors into the faction could help them become even stronger.
Since coming back, Taylor Rotunda has largely played Uncle Howdy. Initially introduced as the associate/nemesis of Bray Wyatt, Howdy has taken over the role as leader to honor his late brother’s memory. However, the times we have seen Dallas have been largely impactful. He’s talked about how much his brother’s death has affected him. He also led a successful ambush against the Creed Brothers and Chad Gable.
We got to see the human side of this larger than life persona. Prior to his death, Wyatt personally selected the other members of the Wyatt Sicks to work with. Seeing Dallas on screen is seeing a man who lost someone very close to him. He’s keeping his chosen family close due to a real familial loss. Giving out the warnings as Bo Dallas give legitimacy to his words, which other tag teams should take very seriously.
One thing the Wyatt Sicks do best is that they suddenly appear out of nowhere, which is pretty much a trademark of WWE’s spooky gimmicks. However, what they’ve done for the past couple of weeks should become a regular occurrence. They’ve been seen many times in the background of backstage segments, with the fans pointing them out online. The other wrestlers can’t see them, but one of them came close.
As the MFT’s were talking about the Tag Team titles on the August 17, 2025 episode of SmackDown, Talla Tonga kept getting distracted by something not shown on camera. After they walked away, Erick Rowan made himself known to everyone. Seeing him lurk in the shadows gives a feeling that the Wyatt Sicks are indeed watching everyone. That should continue to happen, as it gives the audience the impression that they’re everywhere and can attack at any time.
The Wyatt Sicks are already very fascinating. Their unique costumes and much hyped entrances have made many people fans. But what they’ve done the past couple of weeks could increase their popularity. Facing Uncle Howdy is a challenge to any wrestler, but coming face to face with Bo Dallas could be even scarier. He knows what it’s like to lose a family member and how that can negatively affect someone’s career. His warnings to other tag teams shouldn’t be laughed off but instead taken very seriously.
If Melo Don’t Miz and the Street Profits do break up, the catalyst would be Dallas’ warnings. The other members lurking could spell trouble for other teams as well. It would give the impression that they are handpicking their opponents, instead of inciting something in the ring. Implementing those changes could help the Wyatt Sicks become more powerful than they already are.
