Big Changes Ahead

Back in the Yard and I am coming to grips with the fact that my life is about to change dramatically. I am in the final couple weeks in LA at USC and I am trying to enjoy every moment of it. I'll be going to the spring game this weekend and that will literally be my last moment as a student-athlete on the field at USC.

I remember my first spring here not having a clue. Here it is five years later and I am preparing for the NFL Draft and watching all these young kids develop like I did.

One thing Coach Norton has done for us is explain what to expect going into our first mini camp and how to prepare for that. He has been such a great leader for us and has provided us with so much guidance. We are so lucky he is part of our lives. He has helped us understand that there are so many things we can't control so Keith and I are preparing for the things we can control, like attitude, work ethic, being focused, being in shape and being ready. We know that it's not going to be the same level anymore. The NFL is the elite of the elite and we have to raise our levels of preparation, our workouts, our study habits. We know that there are big changes ahead but we are excited for the next phase in our lives.

Well I hope you enjoy the game and the draft. Will you be in NY or at home with the fam? Either way I hope that you hear your name called and dreams come true. Good Luck!

No, not going to NY I am going to be at home with my family enjoying the experience with them! Its not just a celebration of me, but a celebration for them as well.

Good luck to you in the draft.

TC, I know you like Chris Williams from Vandy but what about on D? Do you think the Broncos could use a guy like Thomas?

Thomas would be a great addition.....2nd round tho, I hope they can get Pat Sims, DT from Auburn

It's exciting to have the Draft only a week away, Thomas. Do you anticipate doing special-teams work regardless of where you go? That's always a good way for a rookie to make a name for himself, maybe not with casual fans but definitely with the coaches and analysts.

Yes I am eager to make my mark anywhere I can as a rookie! Thanx D.

I've been reading up on you, Thomas. I'd love to see you playing for the Browns. From everything I can tell, it sounds like you play the game with intensity, intelligence, passion and a motor that doesn't stop. Some guys might have faster 40-times, but football isn't a track meet. I'm going to sit back, cross my fingers, and hope Phil Savage pulls the trigger on T-Will from the new LBU.

Ditto for us Packers fans, although I'm not sure how well you'd get along with A.J. Hawk, considering he's a Buckeye and all. USC > Ohio State!

Yes sir. I love playing this game! I have been taught very well by Coach Carroll and Coach Ken Norton Jr. that there is only one way to play this game. Every time I get on the field is an opportunity to compete. This game is not played for money or fame. Its about the ultimate respect!

Defense wins championships. All the best to you, Thomas. Hopefully you can make a mark in the league and represent the greatest position of all... linebacker. I'd love to see you in B'more with my main man, Ray Ray. You could learn a lot from that guy. Ray Lewis is still one of the best in the business. Thomas, who are you favorite linebackers, past or present?

Man, playing with Ray Lewis? Are you serious. That would be a dream come true! He is one of my favorite players ever! He plays this game with so much passion. I would go to war with that guy any day of the week! Favorites past and present? Butkus, Sam Huff, Ray Lewis, Lofa Tatupu up in seattle, MIke Singletary, Ken Norton Jr, Ray Nitschke, Jack Lambert. Lance Briggs, Urlacher, Patrick Willis, Kirk Morrison, Shawn "lights out" Merriman, Derrick Brooks, the list can go on forever. I try to play this game the way others have set the foundation on!

This YBN blog is deceiving. When it is advertised on the feed Tomas williams has NO shirt on..but when I get in here there is no pic!!! WTF?? That was going straight to my downloads. dammit.
It is amazing how some schools prepare their players for the nfl. that must be so overwhelming.

For you, Pinkpanthrrr.

NICE! THANKS D!

Ya D. Thanx for "Pimpin" me out! lol

thanks for coming on with us (Roc and Manuch) on Sporting News Radio...Good luck!
