Upset Specials...

My two upsets of this weekend will be (10) Davidson over (3) Wisconsin, and (3) Louisville over (2) Tennessee.

With the Sweet 16 so close, I couldn't help but to rewind the wonderful individual efforts of guys like Davidson's Stephon Curry, Stanford's Lopez brothers (Robin and Brook), West Virginia's Joe Alexander, and the point guards from Villanova (Scottie Reynolds) and Xavier (Drew Lavender).

I've have the opportunity to watch Stephon Curry on numerous occasions and I can say he might be one of the best, if not the best, pure shooter in the college game today. With the help of the nation's assist leader at point (Jason Richards), I see this backcourt pushing this Davidson team to the Elite 8 to face a strong Kansas team. But that's where the train stops.

Next, Louisville and Tennessee. Although Tennessee has shown great poise in tight games and in tough situation this is where they have met their match. Louisville, which is led by their big man David Padgett and coach Rick Pitino, will be entirely too strong inside and out for Bruce Pearl and the Volunteers. The problem I see Tennessee having is on the offensive and defensive boards. Tennessee's frontcourt is led by their three athletic sophomores Tyler Smith, J.P. Prince, Wayne Chism, but with fundamental play from Louisville's big-men, I expect the Cardinals to have a strong presence down low.

Nice blog D-mac , Davidson & Duke absolutely killed my bracket, so I basically stopped paying attention, I'm more focused on my womens bracket, the Lady vols havent let me down.

hey Donovan you don't think that 'Nova can beat Kansas. c'mon got to give the hometown team some credit. i think they can do it. See you in '08 my friend. Go Birds. EAGLES!

any news on any other players coming in for a visit say a native from Ohio?

don, you got to talk to the FO again you need #1 wideout! tell them to DO WORK!

welcome back don!!!!! talk to chad, he needs us as much as we need him!!!!!! tell him his fresh start begins in philly!!! D-mac to ocho = SUPERBOWL

Nova is gonna put up a great game, davidson is legit..... Dmac can you acknowledge how you feel about the recent signings?

hey, marshall faulk got the eagles in his elite 8 going up against the patriots!!!!! and hopefully we'll advance

I think Tennessee will do their best to assault Louisville with offense. I hope they win - they're a fun team.

I agree with you Don, that Stephen Curry is the best scorer in at least the tourney. He tears it up inside and out. My only concern is the rest of his team, and even though I would rather watch grass grow than Wisconsin play basketball, I think they might have this match in hand.

I agree, Stephen Curry is a monster, but he can't do it alone. I hear the next matchup will involve double teaming and way more pressure on curry, but its about time. I hope they are the cinderella story this year, but its not likely to happen. BTW sorry to hear that the Cuse lost, and I just wanted to know: Are the sixers your favorite NBA team?

good call with Louisville, I watched an interview with Rick Pitino yesterday and he really looks relaxed and like hes enjoying life and coaching right now. Its got to be hard wit all the stress of the tourney and the great teams that are left. I like their chances just from that fact alone, if hes relaxed then his team will be and that could be just the right mindset to take a team all the way. I'm a big time 'Nova fan so I'd love to see them go too, but I'm a big Louisville fan now too.

lets get a good wide receiver so that you can bring us a superbowl

I'm hoping that Nova can pull it of without Drummond. Everyone else i could care less. To win it all I'm thinking Texas over UNC. anyway, hows everything let me tell you Eagles fans are excited about want you guys are doing. Bring us home a Super Bowl.

D mac!!!! Nice to see you posting...can't wait to see you in the 08 season...work hard!!!! know ya will

Let's hear somethin about the eagles. let's go.

Good post Donovan. Its nice to get away from the football talk for a bit. I agree with the majority.... Curry is a BEAST however; I think Davidson is out this round. I would write more but I'm depressed cause my lack of a "Green thumb" has my Tournament Tree looking like a dieing weed(Damn I've made bad picks). Good luck next year, Donovan

VT kinda fell off and I did to.But it's nice to see a guy like you talking to your fans.....it really means alot hope to see you in 08-09 peace cuz.

can you guys leave the man alone he is here to talk about basketball

Great pick, 'Nova against Clemson. Next up, Kansas!

Go Wildcats.

Donovan, as a fellow 'Cuse alum you have to be hurting for what's happened to our boys. Two straight NIT bids (even if last year's was a farce) doesn't get it done. Next year we will be nasty, and then in 2010 (after Donte Green and Eric Devendorf are gone) we'll be primed for another Final Four run.

Do you ever get in Boeheim's ear about it or bust his balls? Next time you talk to him, maybe mention that it's time to run an offense. I would love to see us execute sets like Vanderbilt, Butler, or Memphis and I really think that's one of the big things missing from our program.

I've got Louisville too D!

Davidson is crazy...i love stephen curry he just takes over when its needed most and wills the team to win....louisville could beat tennessee they have the best team defense in the ncaa

Although I love stephen curry, I don't see Davidson beating Wisconsin. Wisconsin has a very good defense. They will make other players beat them, and, in the end, will score more than Davidson. However, I do see louisville beating tennessee. That should be a great game.

Go Badgers!!
Good picks, but...I have to stick with my team all the way!
Stephon Curry is an amazing talent. Should be a good game..can't wait.

How bout this for an upset special... Philadelphia Eagles over Patriots in a super bowl rematch!

If Davidson can extend the Wisconsin defense with some good outside shooting, they will be in it all of the way. Wisconsin plays real tight. Louisville could bust TN if they played like they did against OU last week. Should be a good matchup.

D-Mac! Your the BEST MAN!!! WE NEED OCHO!!!

love it super 5 buhh more than ne thing i m lookin for nova to upset kansas nd for our Birds to WIN A SUPERBOWL nd i know ur just the guy to do it good luck with ur picks bro nd keep wrkin hard

Go TARHEELS! but davidson is a big upset against wisconsin.curry will put thirty before the break

WI was all over the place, missed way too many shots and gave the ball over. They were so off tonight.
However, as it goes..the best team wins. Congrats to Davidson for a well played game.

Hi Donovan, even though I have really been mostly focused on the professional basketballers, particularly, the Lakers(yeh!), it was just good hearing from you. Shout out from bjoyce!

You were right about Davidson over Wisco dammit.

Good lord Donovan, I wouldn't want to be in your tournament pool.

You must have wrecked it.

You have any advice on Super 14 rugby this weekend?....didn't think so....
