Derek Jeter added to his October resume Wednesday night, homering and getting on base four times, as the New York Yankees defeated the Minnesota Twins 7-2 in Game 1 of their ALDS at Yankee Stadium.
CC Sabathia pitched 6 2/3 innings in his Yankees postseason debut to earn the win. Phil Hughes, Phil Coke, Joba Chamberlain and Mariano Rivera combined to get the final seven outs.
