As was pointed out during ESPN’s coverage of the draft, last year the Carolina Panthers selected Cam Newton with the first overall pick, and after Newton’s amazing rookie year, Carolina feels it is being to figure things out on offense. Therefore, it only made sense that Carolina would begin to address needs on the defensive side of the ball this offseason.
Carolina did just that using the ninth overall pick to select Boston College player Luke Kuechly. Kuechly is a no nonsense player who tackles hard and often.
Kuechly finished his freshman season at Boston College with the most solo tackles and total tackles in the ACC, and finished second in those categories in the NCAA. In his sophomore and junior years, Kuechly led both the ACC and NCAA in solo tackles and total tackles.
Kuechly is in good hands with coach Ron Rivera, and should immediately make an impact in Carolina.
BEST OF MAXIM
CHARLOTTE, NC The Carolina Panthers just got a little smarter and nastier with the selection of Boston College linebacker Luke Kuechly in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft on Thursday night.
In Kuechly, picked ninth overall, the Panthers get a certified tackling machine that combines big-time football intellect with big-time football athletic ability. Keuchly averaged 14 tackles...
At first glance Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly may not look like an NFL linebacker, what with his curly black hair, wire rim glasses and unassuming demeanor.
Boston College football coach Frank Spaziani knows differently.
Spaziani says Kuechly ''looks like Clark Kent and plays like Superman.''
Carolina already has one Superman impersonator on offense in quarterback...
11. Kansas City Chiefs: Luke Kuechly, ILB, Boston College This team needs O-line help and bad so they will look their but with one of the best players in the draft sitting in front they’ll address the defense. This defense has a hole in the middle that you can drive two busses through. They like [...]Thanks for reading. Justin’s 2012 NFL Mock Draft | 11-21 is a post...

The 2012 NFL Draft is nearly upon us.
This year, the strategy for Seattle should be looking for players who will fit in with the current systems seamlessly. No need to draft a guy who requires the coaching staff to redo the entire defense.
The strong run focus and swarming defense are what should be built on until...
Detroit Lions wideout Calvin Johnson has been voted by fans as the winner of the "Madden 13" cover vote with his victory over Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton in the finals.

What will Minnesota do with the third pick overall? Will Mark Barron go higher than anyone expected? As the draft approaches, more rumors sprout. Which are true? Which are smokescreens? Below is how I see things shaking out in Mock Draft v4.0.

With Cam Newton, the extension with Steve Smith, it was the only logical thing that the Panthers could do. The defense needed help and what better then finding someone who will beast up with Beason. Luke Kuechly was the right choice!
I ain’t afraid of no jinx: Calvin Johnson will bravely head into next season as the coverboy for Madden 13.
Detroit Lions receiver CALVIN JOHNSON bested Carolina Panthers QB CAM NEWTON in the final online voting for the honor of gracing the cover of EA Sports’ Madden 13 video game cover on Wednesday in Times Square.
The Megatron cover was revealed on ESPN2 SportsNation Wednesday...
The Carolina Panthers have had some considerable success with a few of their first-round picks over time, and have also selected some duds. More recently, the picks have been more helpful to the franchise than in its early years in the 1990s.
The teams last eight first-round picks remain with the organization, and last year the Panthers took record-setting quarterback Cam Newton...
Andrew Luck will become the next $22 million man in the NFL. According to the Indianapolis Star, Luck and the Colts will soon settle and sign off on the contact terms, which will reportedly be $22 million over four years. It's being said that although the money is a large amount of money, Luck's "possible" contract with the Colts will be low compared to other NFL...
