D. Heath 2.1 IP, 0 R, 2 K
C. Kimbrel 1 IP, 0 R, 1 K, 2 BB
Johnny Venters was rolling along in this one until the umpire tightened up the strike zone on him in the 4th. The pitch that walked Guillermo Rodriguez to load the bases in that inning should have been called a strike and Ambiorix Concepcion took the next one out of the park for a grand slam. Deunte Heath was dominent out of the pen, which is where he profiles best for the Major Leagues. And Craig Kimbrel had a fine AAA debut, throwing a scoreless inning, though the walks continue to plague him. Gwinnett falls a game behind Durham for the division lead, but maintain the lead in the Wild Card.

It's Time to Go, Bobby Cox
If you have watched these Braves all season long and can't come up with a scapegoat for their struggles and terribly inconsistent play allow me to help.
Bobby Cox has seen better days. This year he has nearly single handedly cost the Braves in multiple situations. Just as we Tennessee Vols fans experienced last season with head coach Phil Fulmer, the game has completely passed...

Game 134 Recap: Braves 3, Marlins 8, Bobby Cox 0-good-moves
To sum up this game I'm going to ask you to manage at home. Who would you have brought in to relieve Tommy Hanson in the sixth inning? Would it be the guy who hadn't worked in five days, Buddy Carlyle? No. Would it be the well-rested rookie closer who was just called up, Luis Valdez? No. Would it be a lefty reliever who hasn't been used in over a week, Boone Logan? No...
