James Kannengieser of Amazin Ave. posted a great article on Alex Cora. I couldn't agree more with James in that Cora simply doesn't bring enough to the table for what he cost. Cora has great intangibles and I'm sure he's going to be a very good coach but at 2M or more the talent he brings to a team simply isn't worth it. Don't expect J.J. back...
Adam Rubin takes a first look at the Mets free agents and possible non-tender candidates. Rubin clarifies just how much J.J. will get paid if the Mets pick-up his option and while I'd like to have an elite closer as my set-up man, that's just too much money. I was a huge supporter of the Putz trade but it might have been the biggest bust of Omar's era, he gave up seven...
THE 2010 BILL JAMES HANDBOOK IS NOW AVAILABLE
Now that we amateur GM’s are ready to get down to business fortifying the Mets roster for 2010, the one item that is marked ESSENTIAL is The Bill James Handbook for 2010 (published by ACTA Sports). J.J., Not So Dynamite, Seeks 2010 Spinoff
"All I kept on hearing in the streets of New York when you go get bagels in the morning was, 'Omar, please address the bullpen.' Flash-Forward Friday: I Saw Everything End
"Welcome, Mr. Fry. If you'll just follow me this way, I'll show you your suite."
"OK. This is kind of a weird experience. Can you tell me ..."
"It's an adjustment for everybody, sir. We've found that it's best if you take things in at your own pace. Now then, here we are. After you, Mr. Fry."
"Hmm. Not bad. Not bad at...

In a post to Amazin Avenue, Sam Page lists 13 moves he would make as GM of the Mets, to re-shape the team for 2010.
