Drew Gooden, under fire for allegedly saying a homophobic remark at a Los Angeles Clippers fan, was not the person who uttered the comments, according to a Mavericks' source.
The comments in question came from somebody who was with Gooden, the source said.

That deep and talented bench that the Mavericks have still will be tlented for tonight's game.
It just won't be deep.
Quinton Ross (lower back) and Drew Gooden (right rib cage muscle) both will sit out against New Orleans. With the assorted other injuries, the Mavericks are down to 10 healthy players that will suit up.
Not sure who will replace Ross in the starting lineup...

After trailing by as much as 16 early in the fourth quarter, the Mavericks are trying to mount a rally, but the going is slow.
They crept back within 77-69 after Dirk Nowitzki scored seven quick points.
But the Jazz got a bucket by Carlos Boozer to stem the Maverick tide.
There's still 5:31 to go and the Mavericks have life, which is more than you can say for how they looked...
