The Boston Celtics have played 96 minutes of basketball so far this season. Ray Allen has played 80:22 of those minutes. I started bitching about it yesterday... and then I continued last night on Twitter. I got a lot of "it's too early to start on this" type of comments... which I understand. But at least I'm not the only one who noticed.Today on Dennis & Callahan, Doc was asked why Ray is playing the most minutes on the team.Last night was foul trouble. You always have to look at fouls. Marquis
Daniels had three fouls. Paul had two fouls early, and Ray was the guy
that was left on the floor. Most nights, if foul trouble is not a
problem, Ray will be in that 30-minute mark. Ray may be the
best-conditioned of the group as well.I know Ray is in awesome shape. And I know that it's early. But I hate that it's already at least a topic of conversation.UPDATE: Here's the audioPhoto by Jim Rogash/Getty Images

So we're watching minutes already, huh?
If you didn't hear last night's post-game call in show, you missed me already starting to get worked up about minutes. Right off the bat... I'm wondering what Doc was thinking with Ray Allen, who played 42 minutes in last nights win. 42 minutes on opening night. 42 minutes on the front-end of back-to-back games. 42 minutes on a night where he wasn't really carrying the majority...
Maybe guys should start upfaking LeBron or something
LeBron's chase-down blocks on Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen were spectacular. Here's the thing... it's kinda becoming his "thing." Maybe guys should stop and up-fake... or try to glide under the hoop and go for the reverse lay up. Cuz 'Bron is comin... ain't no doubt about that. Time for plan B.Hat Tip: BDL via BallerBlogger
Comments from the Other Side - Cavs 10/27
I just have this feeling we are gonna drop this one. PROVE ME WRONG CAVS!!!!!!!
Let's Go Cav's!!!! I have been waiting for this game since we went down in Orlando. I know the Cav's are the real deal this season. The Celtics will be going home sad that they are starting the season 0-1.
I hate to lose to Rasheed Wallace. I really hate to lose to Boston. Loss...
Celtics take opener, 95-89
The Celtics came out of the gates slowly, but it isn't how you start. It's how you finish. And the Celtics finished strong, knocking off the Cavs 95-89. The good thing about this game, outside of the win, is that there's one less game in which I have to watch LeBron James, Side Show Bob, and Humpty Dumpty play. Hooray for me. KG came through unscathed, though he did...
Could LeBron Win Defensive Player of the Year?
Premature, sure. But it is not like LeBron James just started blocking shots and playing the passing lanes like few others before him. Last night’s blocks on Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen are likely just the tip of the iceberg.
James was second in the league in DPoY voting last season, and will likely get a [...]
Comments from the Other Side - Bulls 10/30
Not many Bulls fans were expecting a win but most were expecting a competitive game. It always amazes me how fans end up trashing their own team instead of realizing that the Celtics defense just makes players look bad. Here are today's comments from the other side... Enjoy!
This should be another interesting game. It would be funny if there were overtimes.

A Few Random Thoughts 2 Games In
In case you didn't know it, I love Perk. I really do. On the court, I love his willingness to do the dirty work - to play defense and be the enforcer and to play his role to perfection. He had 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 blocks in last night's game and a very nifty assist to Rondo as he cut to the basket. His presence in the game does so much more than the box score shows...
NO OT tonight; C's blow out Bulls
There were no overtimes needed tonight. The Celtics came out in the 2nd half and put on an offensive and defensive clinic that turned a 15-point halftime lead into a 27 point 3rd quarter lead. The result? A 118-90 blowout win that pushes the Celtics to 3-0 going in to their meeting with New Orleans on Sunday. Paul Pierce had a quiet first half, scoring just two points, but exploded...
Recap: Boston vs. Charlotte
Ray Allen led all scorers with 18 points and Rajon Rondo added 10 points and 11 assists, as Boston spoiled Charlotte's season opener and held the Bobcats to a franchise-low scoring mark in a 92-59 rout at TD Garden.
Pierce, Celtics spoil Cavaliers' debut of LeBron, Shaq
Paul Pierce scored 23 points, Ray Allen 16 and Kevin Garnett 13 in his first regular-season game since last March as the Boston Celtics beat Cleveland 95-89 on Tuesday night in the NBA season opener, spoiling the hyped debut of the Cavaliers with LeBron James and Shaquille O'Neal.
Oct 27: Celtics 95, Cavs 89
The AP reports: Boston’s Big Three—plus Rasheed—spoiled Cleveland’s overhyped season opener on Tuesday night with a 95-89 win over the new-look Cavaliers, who may have LeBron James and Shaq but appear to be a long way from true title contenders. Paul Pierce scored 23 points, Ray Allen 16 and Kevin Garnett 13 in his first [...]
