Found June 23, 2009 on MLB Trade Rumors:
The Indians designated Luis Vizcaino for assignment, according to the team's Twitter. Vizcaino was acquired by the Indians earlier in the year to help their struggling bullpen, but walked more than a batter per inning in his 11 games with the club. The Cubs DFA'd Vizcaino exactly two months ago, after he started the year off poorly in their 'pen.

Sizemore’s Return Leads Cleveland to Victory

Grady Sizemore’s return, coupled with solid pitching from rookie David Huff, enabled the Indians to record a victory against the Pirates on Tuesday night…with little help from the bullpen once again. Despite a 5-0 lead headed into the ninth, Matt Herges and Kerry Wood combined to give up five hits, two walks, and four runs. For [...]

The questions continue to mount for the Tribe and the Dolans

Let's start with the positives - things it was good to see tonight. It was simply good to see the Tribe win a game again. It was great to see Grady Sizemore back in the lineup again, chasing balls down in CF and coming out of the box hitting the ball. (Added bonus - no Ben Francisco)It was a huge relief to see someone other than Cliff Lee throw a good ballgame. David Huff was outstanding...

At least make it respectable.... Ha

That was hilarious. That game was over after the first four innings. But the Indians and Pirates know how to do it.That's what happens when two bad teams get together like this. Neither of them want to win, so you see things like last night and tonight.A few errors with two outs, yes two outs, a few home runs... Things start getting interesting. This game was 10-1 heading into the...

Indians activate All-Star CF Sizemore

The Cleveland Indians have All-Star center fielder Grady Sizemore back. Sizemore, out since May 31 with an inflamed left elbow, was activated from the disabled list Tuesday before the struggling Indians opened a three-game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bothered by soreness in his elbow since training camp, Sizemore was batting .223 with nine homers and 31 RBIs in 49...

There is Talent on Tribe Roster

With possible changes in the news for the Cleveland Indians, pretty much everyone in the organization is taking heat, from owner Larry Dolan to the coaching staff.  Some criticism is well founded and based on good information; other stuff doesn’t have a lot of basis in fact.    One such criticism is that the Tribe just doesn’t have a lot of talent.  While it is true...

Cubs Sweep! or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Kerry Wood.

When COI last left the Cubs, we were crying in our collective Lagunitas Hop Stoopid's (the Official Beer of COI), and hoping that JDot could break his curse of 13 loses in a row and that the Cubs could avoid being swept by the dreaded Meth Heads. Wow! What a difference a weekend makes.Similar to the TLFC and Jason Waddell, the COI trip to Flagstaff for the Made In The Shade Beer...

Not as Close as the Final

The Pirates trounced the Indians 10-6 Wednesday night, the Indians scoring five runs in the ninth to make their performance somewhat respectable. Carl Pavano allowed 11 hits and eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, but an error meant five were unearned. Pavano’s encouraging May turned into a disastrous June. Zach Duke pitched six strong [...]

Heyman On Strasburg, Pedro, DeRosa

Jon Heyman of SI.com lists some of the best and worst starts to the season. Justin Upton and Marco Scutaro are two of the players to make the first list. Heyman's also got some rumors to pass along; here they are: It is believed that Stephen Strasburg's people don't want him to pitch in the majors this year. Strasburg's agent, Scott Boras, is believed...

Game 70: Indians 5 Pirates 4

To begin with, near comeback against a terrible bullpen is no reason to get excited about what was an otherwise terrible baseball game. We'll get to said comeback in a minute, but first we should focus on the terrible parts. If we're going to do that, Ian Snell is certainly the place to start. Yes, Steve Pearce played some awful defense that got Snell into hotter water than...
