Mighty Quinn Media Machine:
The Red Sox placed Mike Lowell on the disabled list today, retroactive to June 28 with his ongoing hip problems. That means he will be out until the All-Star Break, and could be reactivated on July 17th, when the Red Sox open the second half in Toronto.Jeff Bailey was brought up from Pawtucket, and will be in the lineup tonight, at first base and batting ninth. Kevin Youkilis will probably be playing third base most of the time while Lowell is on the sidelines.
