White Sox get Jake Peavy from Padres
The Chicago White Sox have acquired right-handed pitcher Jake Peavy, a two-time All-Star and the 2007 National League Cy Young Award winner, from the San Diego Padres in exchange for left-handers Aaron Poreda and Clayton Richard and right-handers Dexter Carter and Adam Russell.
Tying up some loose trade deadline ends
Jake Peavy to the White Sox out of the blue. Aaron Poreda and three guys who don't do just a ton for me (though Dexter Carter is gaining fans this season) are going to SD. Peavy has been unwilling to allow a trade to Arlington, so it's not even worth comparing the price with Rangers prospects.

Tigers Lose to Indians In Thirteen
Yesterday afternoon’s trade deadline chat was definitely fun. What wasn’t fun was having the White Sox sneak in and get Jake Peavy. The Chicago White Sox who traded eariler in the season for Jake Peavy only to have him reject the trade has now decided to accept the trade and he will become a Chicago White Sox. This really helps them out especially in their hopes of catching the Tigers in the...
A Look at the Jake Peavy Trade
Over two months after trading for Jake Peavy and having the 2007 NL Cy Young winner invoke his no-trade clause, the Sox finally got the man they wanted.
It's safe to say that nobody saw this trade coming. While all the attention was on Adrian Gonzalez and Heath Bell in San Diego, Williams flew under the radar and nabbed Peavy for what probably was the same package of players...
Cubs lose trip opener to Marlins
On a day they played the Marlins at a stadium named Land Shark, Friday was all about the ones that got away for the Cubs. It started with the expiration of the trading deadline without the new hitter the Cubs hoped to add, continued with the news that the White Sox acquired the Cubs' long-sought pitcher, Jake Peavy, and ended with a quiet 5-2 loss to the Florida Marlins.
