Bugs & Cranks:
The weather in Philadelphia, however, did not. Damn that crap was nasty.
When I saw the flags doing that during pre-game, I predicted there would be at least two Brad Hawpe misplays in right field. Hawpe obliged with one. But it’s Carlos Gonzalez who stole Hawpe’s defensive blunder thunder with this complete mess in the 5th inning.
Granted, the ball Howard hit was at least 15 rows in the seats on a normal day, but that was brutally played. Jayson Werth followed that up with a bomb 430 bomb (on a normal day) to straight away left field that ended up ricocheting off the center field wall for an RBI triple.
I guess we’ll call that Brad Hawpe’s second misplay. He was nowhere to be found...
