The Redshirt Senior:
And that's what you get for not playing, Alabama. Seriously what did the Crimson Tide do to the AP and coaches' polls? Did they come home and find Nick Saban having his way with their mothers? Did 'Bama pull a Larry David and not introduce the polls to an acquataince at the country club?In two weeks, the Tide have gone from No. 1 to No. 3, a span in which they won and had a bye week. If you do exactly what you're supposed to do, win, and you're penalized, what sense does that make? I'll concede that 'Bama hasn't looked great in totaling two touchdowns in 10 quarters and kicker Leigh Tiffin has become their biggest weapon, but it's clear that everyone with a vote wants the preseason clash of Florida-Texas to come to fruition ... except for The Señior.
If Alabama can't get it done vs. LSU, then I'll drop it. But in the meantime, I'm keeping the SEC's elite at Nos. 1 and 2.

Alabama Man Repeatedly Mistaken for Mount Cody
Between the hair and the size -- 6-foot-3, 304 lbs. -- it'd be easy to mistake this man to the right, Willie Holmes, for Terrence Cody. But it is not him, so you can stop asking him for autographs.
Holmes was a potential juror in Baldwin County and had jurors and judges debating whether he was actually Mount Cody. Evidently Holmes played defensive tackle in high school and is...
Alabama’s Passing Problem: Who’s Really To Blame?
After eight grueling weeks that included match-ups with three top 25 teams, five conference games in a row, and being one meaty Terrance Cody paw away from suffering it’s first loss, Alabama finally got a break this weekend.
It couldn’t have come at a better time. The Crimson Tide was obviously gassed both physically and mentally as it gutted out the final seconds of the...
Saban wants 'Bama looking long again to snap end zone drought
There's no "secret" to Alabama's success -- the Tide rank in the top five nationally in every major defensive category, are good for more than 200 yards per game on the ground behind the SEC's leading rusher and don't turn the ball over. That's the 'Bama blueprint from time immemorial, and they've hit all of those notes to various degrees in...

Guess what team rates near the bottom of the SEC in sacks this season?
You guessed it. Tied for last is LSU with only 11 sacks in eight games.

Alabama’s Evil Genius Meets LSU’s Mad Hatter With Everything At Stake
In addition to getting bragging rights, the winner when No. 9 LSU meets No. 3 Alabama in Tuscaloosa this Saturday will be in the driver’s seat to win the SEC West. That would, in turn, secure the winner a spot in the SEC Championship for what has become the annual play-in for the BCS National Title game.
Here is a detailed look at the game from a Tiger's perspective:
