Eric Roof, who led MSU in nearly every offensive category this past season, was selected in the 18th round (No. 540 overall) of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft by the Detroit Tigers on Wednesday (June 10). Roof was named Michigan State's Offensive Player of the Year as well as Most Valuable Player this past season.

DSQ thinks it's a good move by Jim Leyland. Jeremy Bonderman just didn't have it Monday night and it shows he has some more work to do to earn his starting role back. The bullpen is a great place for him to start. Right now Dontrelle Willis is the better choice for the rotation. What do you think?
