NEW ORLEANS -- Rick Adelman has missed the Minnesota Timberwolves' past two games in order to be with his wife, Mary Kay, who is in the hospital. Adelman has been away from the team since Monday and last coached Saturday night against Portland. His status remains day-to-day; a return date has not yet been announced, and the team first released the reason for his absence Thursday morning. Assistant coach Terry Porter will continue to lead the Timberwolves in Adelman's absence. He has coached them to a 1-1 record, with a win over Atlanta and a loss in Oklahoma City. The team next plays in New Orleans on Friday and will take a 16-16 record into that game. Follow Joan Niesen on Twitter.

Rubio cleared to play back-to-back games

MINNEAPOLIS Ricky Rubio answered the question like there'd never been a doubt. Yes, he said. Yes, he'll be playing in Oklahoma City Wednesday night, tomorrow night, really, when he said it. And tomorrow night implies back-to-back, which is just what the Timberwolves are facing and just what Rubio has heretofore been banned from. "My first back-to-back," he said...

Cunningham proving to be jack of all trades

MINNEAPOLIS Dante Cunningham is not among the league leaders in steals. Not steals per minute, either. Steals per clutch moment, though if that were a stat, you have to know the forward would be up there. With 15 seconds remaining in the Timberwolves' 108-103 win over Atlanta on Tuesday, Cunningham lurched the ball away from Josh Smith, ensuring a foul, two free throws, and...

Wolves 3-point shooting worst in league

MINNEAPOLIS This is bad. Epically bad, in fact. Ugly bad. Head-shakingly bad. Tied for 21th-worst all-time bad. If you haven't guessed it yet, I'm referring to the Timberwolves' 3-point shooting this season. As a team, they're shooting a collective 30.1 percent from long range, which is a resounding worst in the NBA and, among teams all-time that have attempted more...

Ricky Rubio Between the Legs Pass Against Thunder (Video)

Ricky Rubio proved last night why he's known as the most creative passer in the NBA.  Check out the video below of Rubio tossing a pass between his legs through two defenders to Lou Amundson.  Sadly Lou couldn't convert the basket to top it all off, but you can't blame Rubio for his crappy teammate. The Timberwolves went on to get crushed 106-84 by the OKC...
