**Matt Curry went 1-for-4.
**Vic Black was the winning pitcher, after throwing a scoreless eighth inning. Black gave up one hit, walked none, and struck out one. He threw 13 pitches, and nine for strikes.

The Pittsburgh Pirates announced a few moves this afternoon. The team claimed right-hander Chad Beck off waivers from Toronto, and catcher Ali Solis off waivers from San Diego. To make room on the 40-man roster, they designated Jeff Clement and Eric Fryer for assignment.
Beck, who turns 28 in January, has just 18 innings in the majors, with a 5.50 ERA, a 6.0 K/9, and a 2.5 BB/9 ratio...

**Adalberto Santos went 0-for-2 with two walks. Santos started in left field.
**Gift Ngoepe went 0-for-3 with a walk and two strikeouts.
**Tyler Waldron pitched an inning, allowing two runs on two hits, with a walk, no strikeouts, and a home run. Waldron threw 23 pitches, with 13 strikes.
