The Buffalo Bills released journeyman quarterback Matt Flynn on Monday. A week after getting clipped by the Oakland Raiders on October 7, the 28-year-old Flynn was inked by Buffalo to get a healthy man under center. Having never taken a snap and strictly serving as an emergency replacement for the Bills, Flynn’s now essentially been fired by three organizations over a span of seven months. Flynn has tossed 10 touchdowns, against six interceptions, for 1,329 yards since debuting in 2008. A good decision-maker with solid accuracy on intermediate routes, the former Tiger’s also completed 62.3% of his 175 attempts. However, … Continue reading →

The concept of the ‘contract year’ is prevalent in professional sports.
Players commonly outperform expectations in the final year of their contracts, setting themselves up for a tasty payday.
However, career backup quarterback Matt Flynn has found himself in an intriguing, albeit soul crushing predicament as the victim of a much more rarely occurring phenomenon: the contract game...
Through nine games, Buffalo Bills rookie linebacker Kiko Alonso, a second round pick from Oregon, has proven he can do it all on the field. He roams sideline to sideline. He’ll put a hurtin’ on a running back who thinks he has a hole. And he’s adequate in coverage. According to one Bills fan, he would make a decent city court judge. On Tuesday, Election Day in America...
Buffalo Bills are getting back their starting quarterback this week. I am being told that EJ Manuel will in fact start this week against the Steelers barring any setback. He was cleared today by teams doctors and is expected to start. He is excited and cannot wait to get back out on the field with […]
EJ Manuel to the rescue?
The Buffalo Bills rookie quarterback on Monday declared himself ready to return after missing four weeks with a sprained right knee. All that's standing in Manuel's way is a green light from coach Doug Marrone.
And that won't likely come until later in the week, and after Manuel gets a chance to test his knee. The team returns to practice Wednesday...
Bills running back C.J. Spiller looked rejuvenated Sunday against the Chiefs after sitting out Week 8 to heal his ankle sprain.Fantasy Spin:Spiller was still sporting a limp, but he was able to cut effectively and galloped for 116 rushing yards on 12 carries. He added 39 receiving yards on two catches. Fantasy owners now have to hope his ankle responds from the expanded workload...
Bills rookie QB E.J. Manuel has been cleared to return to the practice field, per Mike Rodak.
Still, the decision as to whether or not Manuel will play against the Steelers in Week 10 is up to HC Doug Marrone.
“Definitely looking forward to getting [back to] practice full course, getting as many reps as Coach allows me to get,” Manuel said Monday. “It’s his decision at...
Buffalo's franchise QB E.J. Manuel has been cleared to practice, according to Bills beat reporter Mike Rodak.Fantasy Spin:That means he could play as soon as Week 10. On the other hand they could be conservative in a season that is already lost and wait as far as after their Week 12 bye. His fantasy owners as well as those of Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods would like an early return.
Bills running back C.J. Spiller is active for Week 9Fantasy Spin:The return of Spiller will certainly help the Bills as they face the undefeated Chiefs, but having to split carries with Fred Jackson makes Spiller a flex option, at best, for Week 9.
The Buffalo Bills’ record in Stevie Johnson’s five-plus seasons with the team is 32-57.
You can understand, then, why Johnson has zero patience for any talk of “moral victories,” including after the latest loss Sunday to the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We felt like we had the game. We controlled the game, and we ended up coming out with another loss,” Johnson said Monday....
I’ve heard about doing some crazy things in the midst of defeat, but giving your dog the cold shoulder is just down right wrong. “I’m pissed. I’m going to use that type of energy,” Marrone told reporters, via BuffaloBills.com. “I’m going to go home, not talk to anybody, just shut it down. I’m going to be […]
IT HAS BEEN an odds-defying year for Buffalo Bills quarterback Jeff Tuel. While the undrafted rookie free agent's signing with an NFL club may not have been an improbability, excelling throughout the preseason and earning an opening-day roster spot seemed a long shot to even his most subjective supporters.
According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, Buffalo Bills quarterback E.J. Manuel (knee) should be ready to play in a couple of weeks.
EJ Manuel's rehab from knee injury going well with no setbacks, source tells me. Should be ready to play in a couple of weeks @buffalobills

Publisher Nick St. Denis, associate editor Dan Begnoche and senior contributor Sean Donovan pick the Buffalo Bills' battle with the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.Dan's take:Pulling off an upset against the league's only undefeated team is quite a challenge without your starting quarterback, or even your backup. With quarterback Thad Lewis a no-go, Buffalo's offense...
The Buffalo Bills' run game had a lot pressure on its shoulders in taking on an undefeated Kansas City Chiefs team with a legit run defense. And by all accounts, the group exceeded expectations — at least when it was given the chance.Through three quarters, Buffalo's running back duo of C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson had amassed nearly 200 yards on the ground and had carried...
