Barring injury, Alex Rodriguez will likely play out the remainder of the 2013 season On Wednesday, the Major League Baseball Players Association formally filed a grievance regarding Alex Rodriguez’ 211 game suspension for PED use associated to the Biogenesis scandal. While the suspension is slated to kick in today, based upon provisions in the drug agreement between the players and the league, Rodriguez’ suspension is stayed until the grievance is heard by an independent arbitrator. First reported by The Associated Press, the process of having the grievance heard by independent arbitrator Fredric Horowitz would not occur until November or December. If so, barring injury, Rodriguez would be allowed to play for the Yankees through the rest of the 2013 regular season, and should the Yankees rise in the standings, any postseason play. Should Horowitz uphold part or all of the league’s suspension it would begin being served at the start of the 2014 season. The remaining 13 playe...

A-Rod receives mixed reaction from fans in return to Yankee Stadium (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez played in Yankee Stadium Friday night for the first time this season and received an understandably mixed reaction from the fans. As A-Rod came to the plate, there was about a 50-50 split between fans cheering and booing. However, after A-Rod struck out in his first at-bat, he was nearly...

A-Rod apologizes to teammates

Mariano Rivera said that Alex Rodriguez met with each player on the team and apologized to them, saying, "It meant a lot to all of us that he came and did that."

The good, the bad and the ugly in A-Rod’s return to the New York Yankees

Amid the tumult and turmoil of the Biogenesis investigation, Alex Rodriguez insisted he just wanted to get back on the field. The baseball diamond has always been a sanctuary for the troublemaking slugger, a place where he can perform without acting, and act without trying to perform. He has taken his show to many theatres, but the ball field seems to be the one life arena in which...

Did Chicago Fans Cheer When Alex Rodriguez Was Hit By a Pitch?

For obvious reason, in the baseball loving world new York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez is public enemy No. 1. In his first at-bat Monday night against the White Sox he was booed pretty heavily, and here it looks/sounds like some fans may have cheered when he was hit by a pitch. Of course we can't know for sure. They could be reacting to something on the Jumbotron,...

The A-Rod Anti-Highlight Reel has derps, ‘You’re the Best Around’ soundtrack (video)

The litany of derps perpetrated by Alex Rodriguez have been frequently discussed and well-documented. But how about if someone pieced together a majority of A-Rod’s missteps, mistakes and misdeeds and compiled it into one awkwardly embarrassing video? That’s derpness gold, kiddos. Created by Joe Perry of VKMTV Productions, this delightful bit of video is great […]The post The...

Rodriguez at DH rather than 3B

As Alex Rodriguez's suspension saga unfolds, the New York Yankees insist it's business as usual for them.

A-Rod returns to Bronx boobirds

Alex Rodriguez got booed in pregame introductions, booed when his picture was put up on the video board and booed again when came to bat in the first inning. And when he struck out? Booed even more. Loudly, too. Same thing when he fanned the next time up. The crowd at Yankee Stadium had its say Friday night when Rodriguez played at home for the first time since last October. While...

A-Rod only one who can't see he's become a joke

LOS ANGELES I'm really concerned about Alex Rodriguez. I'm not worried that he'll never play another game he probably doesn't have many of those left in his 38-year old body anyway. And I'm not worried about him being elected to the Hall of Fame, because as long as suspicion and not fact can keep you out, it's not a real HOF anyway. No, I'm actually...

Boo-birds will be out at Yankee Stadium as A-Rod puts the pinstripes back on

He has next to nothing to do with the Yankees’ season being finished by the first week of August. In fact after missing four months recovering from hip surgery and morphing into the face of the Biogenesis scandal he has looked better than expected. Yet tonight at Yankee Stadium a frustrated Yankees fan base likely will greet Alex Rodriguez who makes his Bronx season debut with...

Yankees game 114 lineup: 8/9/13

The last time Alex Rodriguez set foot in Yankee Stadium against the Tigers, he was benched in favor of Eric Chavez. Now, he returns nearly a year later – back at third base. It seems as if it’s now or never for the Yankees, who are just one game above .500 coming into tonight’s game. Ivan Nova looks to continue his recent success, facing off against New Jersey native Rick Porcello...

Bud Selig FINALLY cracked down on the PED users like they were Mike Leake caught shoplifting. The sports world had been waiting quite some time for the commish to lay down the suspensions to the players involved in the Biogenesis case, longer than waiting out a Rod Belding return to Bayside. Since the names had originally been leaked and all that remained was the suspension length...
