Around the Farm takes a quick look at some of yesterday’s performances by Indians prospects throughout the system. The positions listed below are where the player was playing in yesterday’s game. Matt Packer (Akron, SP) – W (6-5), 6 IP, 4 H, 1 R (earned), 3 BB, 4 K, 1 HBP On a rough night in the organization (like Friday night), it can often be hard to find a feature-worthy performance, but Packer’s six solid innings in Akron certainly qualify.  While the first inning was not exactly a thing of beauty and the pitch count seemed to be piling up on him pretty quickly on him early in the game, he recovered quite nicely to put up six solid innings before turning over the Canal Park mound to closer Jose Flores (The game was the first half of an uncompleted doubleheader – the second game was rained out – and thus was only scheduled for seven innings).
