The Atlanta Falcons will play against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST. Despite the Falcons being 11-1 the jury remains out on whether they are a true Super Bowl contender or just a team that looks pretty in Week 14. Their opponent on Sunday, Carolina has been inconsistent all season on offense. So who is favored in the Falcons versus Panthers game? The Falcons will again have to prove themselves. They are a 3.5 point favorite entering this contest but have had to survive a few close falls of late. The total points for the game is set at 47.5. In the teams first match-up this season the Falcons won on a last-second field goal. Atlanta is coming off a ten point win against New Orleans while Carolina recently lost to Kansas City. The Falcons average 26.4 points per game, while Carolina is posting 19.6. The Panthers defense is giving up 24.3 ppg, while Atlanta’s defense gives up an average of 19.1, fifth in the league.
