Former University of Wisconsin head football coach Bret Bielema's decision to take the same job at Arkansas continues to reshape what's left of his staff at Wisconsin. Matt Canada has joined new North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren's staff as the Wolfpack's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, the same positions he held at Wisconsin. "Matt Canada has one of the most creative offensive minds in the country, and he does a great job of utilizing strengths and hiding weaknesses," Doeren, the Badgers' defensive coordinator from 2008-10, told N.C. State's website. "I had the privilege to work with Matt when he was on the staff of our first conference championship team at Northern Illinois and to coach against him when he was the offensive coordinator at Indiana. "Matt has had to run his offense with different personnel and has been successful each time. He will make the transition much easier for me. He's not only a tremendous quarterback coach who has developed quarterbacks into NFL players, but he has also developed the run game, as evidenced by Wisconsin's success rushing the ball this season." Wisconsin ranks 12th in the nation in rushing under Canada, but the team's overall production was down significantly from last season, and the Badgers' offense got rolling only after a very slow start. Canada spent one season at Wisconsin after holding the same positions at Northern Illinois in 2011 under Doeren. Prior to that, Canada was the offensive coordinator at Indiana. N.C. State's hiring announcement didn't reveal when Canada will leave Wisconsin and whether he'll coach in the Rose Bowl before doing so. Badgers co-defensive coordinator Chris Ash has already agreed to become Bielema's defensive coordinator at Arkansas.
