Found March 10, 2011 on Blogging Bevo:
The Longhorns picked up another commitment today — their fifth of the 2012 recruiting class — with a verbal from 6-7, 205 pound forward Kevin Thomas. Thomas is the second Canadian in the 2011 class, a teammate on the AAU Grassroots Canada team with Myck Kabongo. Thomas, a three-star recruit, will add some much-needed depth on the wing for Texas next year, presuming Jordan Hamilton declares for the NBA draft, and could even be a candidate to start sometime down the road of his first year. His versatility is what caught the Longhorns’ attention, as he is athletic, skilled with the ball and possesses an improving jump shot. Barnes doesn’t really call on many forwards to handle the ball, but Thomas certainly has the ability to do so. He chose the Longhorns over North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Seton Hall and New Mexico. A pretty good start for today.
