According to the Herald the Sox offered a three year deal but Bay is looking for at least four year, preferably five...The Red Sox are believed to have discussed only a three-year deal for Bay, who is said to be looking for at least four, and preferably five, years. The length of the contract is expected to be a bigger issue for the Sox than the pricetag, which likely will fall between $16-18 million per season. Other teams expected to pursue Bay include the Mets, Mariners and Giants. source Boston Herald
