How have non-BCS teams done in BCS bowls? See below.
2004: Fiesta Bowl - Utah def. Pitt, 35-7
2006: Fiesta Bowl - Boise State def. Oklahoma, 43-42
2007: Sugar Bowl - Georgia def. Hawai'i, 41-10
2008: Sugar Bowl - Utah def. Alabama, 31-17
2009: Fiesta Bowl - Boise State def. TCU, 17-10
Please note: year shown above is the season, not the year the bowl took place.
Non-BCS teams' record in BCS bowls is 4-2, however one loss is the TCU loss to Boise State. Non-BCS teams are 3-1 against teams from BCS conferences. Utah and Boise State both have posted 2-0 records in BCS bowls.
There have been non-BCS schools snubbed by the BCS selection committee. Despite being eligible for a BCS bowl, these teams were passed over for teams from a BCS conference.
