Charlotte, NC (WGR550) -- The Buffalo Bills defense created several turnovers and held the Carolina Panthers two-headed running game in check most of the game in their 20 to 9 win over the Panthers Sunday afternoon at Bank of America Stadium. Rookie corner Jairus Byrd had two interceptions on the day. The first INT up the offense in Carolina territory and a short field to work with. Marshawn Lynch put the team on the scorebaord with a 7-yard touchdown late in the first quarter. The rushing TD was the first on the ground for the Bills on the season. Carolina had a chance to cut into the lead, but kicker John Kasay botched the 43-yard field goal attempt early in the second quarter. The Panthers' finally got on the board, when their defense caught RB Fred Jackson in the Buffalo end zone to score a safety and cut the deficit to 7-2 midway through the second quarter.
