Reports began to circulate on Friday that the NBA would be adding one more award to its yearly cadre of honors, and on Sunday, the speculation as to what said award would entail ended. NBA.coms Steve Aschburner reported that it is the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award, and that it will be presented before Sundays game in Miami to one of 12 nominees.
Among the nominees is the Clippers Chauncey Billups, who is the only Los Angeles player on the list. Brooklyns Jerry Stackhouse, Clevelands Luke Walton, Denvers Andre Iguodala, Golden States Jarrett Jack, Indianas Roy Hibbert, Miamis Shane Battier, New Orleans Roger Mason Jr., New Yorks Jason Kidd, Oklahoma Citys Serge Ibaka and San Antonios Manu Ginobili round out the list of nominees.
