Williams, 37, a former Notre Dame standout and NBA player, is regarded as a top assistant coach who may be ready for his own club. Minnesota may be looking for a first-time coach to lead the organization's rebuilding program after finally separating with Kevin McHale. Kahn backed out of a media obligation Monday to conduct the interview. Lakers assistant Kurt Rambis, Rockets assistant Elston Turner and TV analyst Mark Jackson have already talked to Kahn, who is also trying to lure Ricky Rubio into playing this season for Minnesota.Blazers Assistant Monty Williams Interviews with Timberwolves originally appeared on Fanhouse NBA Blog on Tue, 14 Jul 2009 20:03:00 EDT .
