Found June 29, 2012 on Pro Sports Daily:
The net effect of their June 25 trade with the Pistons left the Bobcats with a big hole at small forward. They filled that hole and then some in Thursday's draft, using the No. 2 pick on Kentucky's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and No. 31 on Vanderbilt's Jeffrey Taylor. It was a big week in starting the process of fixing a Bobcats team that went a historically worst 7-59 last season. First, the Bobcats swapped Corey Maggette for combo guard Ben Gordon and a future first-round pick. That served two purposes: Gordon's career 41 percent shooting from 3-point range goes far in addressing the Bobcats' league-worst shooting from the arc (29.5 percent). Also, the first-round pick (compensation for taking on $13.2 million next season for Gordon) will be a considerable asset. The Bobcats considered trading down on draft night and had discussions with both the Cavaliers and Rockets. But general manager Rich Cho said that was just too risky once they locked in on Kidd-Gilchris...

Bobcats surprise with Kidd-Gilchrist at No. 2

The general consensus leading up to the 2012 NBA Draft was that Kansas power forward Thomas Robinson would go second overall to the Charlotte Bobcats. Instead, the Bobcats went more with quickness by taking Kentucky small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, adding a glimpse into the franchise's future as seen by general manager Rich Cho and new head coach Mike Dunlap. Dunlap repeatedly...

The Charlotte Bobcats take Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the 2nd pick Grade Grade B

The poor Charlotte Bobcats; they finished has the worst team in NBA history but didn’t get the 1st pick overall.  With Anthony Daivs being the only sure things in this draft the Bobcats had a ton of quality players to choose from the second pick but they took  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist  .  I like this pick for the Bobcats they could have draft a player at any position...

Bobcats take Kidd-Gilchrist with No. 2 pick, Wizards take Beal No. 3

The Charlotte Bobcats, who had the worst record in the NBA last season, picked Kentucky 6-7 freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday. It means Kentucky freshmen were taken in the first two picks. Kidd-Gilchrist is a high-energy player, who still needs to work on his outside shot. It's the first time in the modern era that teammates...

The Charlotte Bobcats have taken Vanderbilt small forward Jeff Taylor with the 31st overall pick in the NBA draft. The Bobcats followed up their first-round pick of Kentucky small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist on Thursday night by selecting Taylor, another player who is considered a good scorer from the wing. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Taylor averaged 16.1 points, second-best in the...
