PLAYERS: Bret Hart
Bret Hart calls Hogan one-dimensional: “I don’t want to rag too much on Hulk Hogan but he’s pretty one-dimensional,” said Bret Hart during a recent interview with CTV News. The WWE Hall of Famer was discussing WWE’s transition to the Attitude Era. “By the early ’90s when I was sort of in my prime, we started moving to the Attitude Era and I like to think that I kicked the doors open for the Attitude Era,” he continued. The Hitman said the product of the mid-80s with stars like Hulk Hogan was “much more about cartoon characters.” “[Hogan was a] very big guy. The great, magnificent body that he had — the 22-inch arms and all that kind of stuff. But after a while, after (The Ultimate) Warrior came, it was like, ‘Enough of the body-building, let’s go on with who can actually do a drop-kick and who can actually climb up on top and do stuff.’” ________________________________________________________________________________ ECW Original still jumping off balconies: Despite being close to 50 years old, New Jack is still diving off balconies for hardcore wrestling fans. The ECW Original suffered a hairline fracture of his right heel and foot after doing his patented dive through a table at the recent Extreme Rising internet pay-per-view, set up by Shane Douglas. New Jack also suffered a deep bruised thigh, ribs and kidney, during the event. This means he’s off the card for the December 29th show in Philly. ________________________________________________________________________________ CM Punk talks Rock match on WGN: WWE Champion CM Punk pretty much confirmed his match with The Rock at Royal Rumble, during his appearance at the Chicago McDonald’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. In an interview that aired on WGN America, Punk said “The Rock knows that he’s gonna get hurt.” Strangely, despite some references by Punk on television WWE have not officially announced the match. Speaking of The Rock he is already back in London for filming. He wrote on Twitter: “Flew in from London to spend just a few hours w/ my family. Now flyin’ back to London.” Rock has also been hyping a match with Punk. During Survivor Series he uploaded the following photo, with the caption: “CMPunk, Ryback22, JohnCena Who wins? #ItDoesntMatter #NextWWEChampion.”
