Pro Sports Daily:
The Browns parted ways with Chip Kelly because ownership did not think the Oregon coach's heart was 100 percent into leaving the Pac-12. A league source told the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Sunday that neither Browns owner Jimmy Haslam nor CEO Joe Banner would "settle for anything less" than a 100-percent commitment. The Browns, who had met with Kelly for seven hours on Friday, and on Saturday were ready to make him the team's 14th head coach, sensed that Kelly seriously was considering staying in Eugene. Kelly had spent most of Saturday meeting with Philadelphia officials about the Eagles' vacancy. Haslam and Banner removed the Browns as a possible destination for Kelly and returned to Cleveland to restart their search without him. A source told the Plain Dealer that Kelly seemed to be leaning toward remaining at Oregon. The source said that if Kelly does eventually choose the Eagles, the Browns are at peace with their decision to go in a different dir...

Cleveland fans have needed their team to give them a “we are really serious about winning football games” type move since the NFL gave football back to the city. The Lerner family never really showed much interest, but it seems that new owner Jimmy Haslam is wasting zero time in his first offseason. He is going for the end zone in his first big move besides getting rid of Pat...
