MILWAUKEE -- Avery Johnson was the Eastern Conference's Coach of the Month for October and November. Now he's fired in December. As it turns out, Wednesday's 108-93 loss to the Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center was the final straw for Brooklyn's front office as the team fired Johnson on Thursday. Full of hype and expectations in a new city with a new arena and an expensive roster, Brooklyn started the season 11-4. The Nets are just 3-10 since, including two losses to the Bucks. Following an ugly Christmas Day loss to Boston at the Barclays Center, Nets CEO Brett Yormark took to Twitter to voice his frustrations. "Nets fans deserve better," Yormark tweeted. "The entire organization needs to work harder to find a solution. We'll get there." A Brooklyn spokesman later released a statement saying that Yormark wasn't just talking about the team's performance on the court, but Johnson admitted during his pregame gathering at the Bra...

Bucks Wednesday: Udrih returns to action

Milwaukee Bucks guard Beno Udrih will make his return to the floor Wednesday night against Brooklyn after missing 12 games with a sprained right ankle. Injured Nov. 30 in Minnesota, Udrih has been badly missed by a Bucks team that lacks depth behind starting guards Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis. Udrih, 30, is averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 assists in 18 minutes off the bench....

Bucks singe the Nets with superb shooting

MILWAUKEE -- To sum up Wednesday's win over Brooklyn, Bucks coach Scott Skiles stole an oft-used line from NBA analyst and former coach Jeff Van Gundy. "It's a make or miss league." The one-liner is tossed around the NBA quite a bit, but it was probably the best summation of Milwaukee's 108-93 win, its 13th straight victory over the Nets. The Bucks shot 47...

Bucks backcourt dismantles Nets

Brandon Jennings scored 25 points, Monta Ellis added 20 points and a season-high six steals, and the Milwaukee Bucks beat the short-handed Brooklyn Nets for the 13th straight time, 108-93 on Wednesday night. Brook Lopez had 21 points and 10 rebounds as the Nets missed a chance to get back to .500 on the road (6-7) and lost their third straight. The Nets were without starting guard...

Bucks take aim, shots fall in win over Nets

MILWAUKEE -- The law of averages is pretty clear; at some point over the course of an 82-game season, shots eventually will fall. They finally did for the Milwaukee Bucks, who shot 47 percent from the field and hit 10 of 17 3-point attempts Wednesday in a 108-93 victory over the Brooklyn Nets at the BMO Harris Bradley Center. Milwaukee's backcourt tandem of Brandon Jennings...

Bucks Friday: Milwaukee still respects Wade

ST. FRANCIS, Wis. -- Is Dwyane Wade a dirty player? That's the topic de jour around the NBA as the Miami Heat guard and former Marquette University star was issued a one-game suspension for "flailing his leg and making contact with the groin" of Bobcats guard Ramon Sessions. Wade will sit out Friday's game against Detroit and return to action Saturday against Milwaukee...

Bucks in thick of Central race for now

(Eds: Updates. With AP Photos.) By ANDREW WAGNER Associated Press Before the season, few figured the Milwaukee Bucks would be challenging for the Central Division lead. Yet here they are at 15-12, just a half-game behind division-leading Indiana and tied with Chicago entering Thursday night's games. With Detroit and Cleveland struggling, the Central is currently a three-team...

Bucks 108, Nets 93

Jennings hit nine of 15 shots, including three of four 3-point attempts, and he handed out six assists. Teammate Monta Ellis had a big night as well, scoring 20 points on 7-of-14 shooting...
